M5 iPad Pro Supports 60W Fast Charging Allowing You to Get up and Running in a Matter of Minutes
The new iPad Pro supports charging speeds I’ve never ever seen on an iPad before. Apple says if you use 40W Dynamic Power Adapter with 60W Max, you can charge it from zero to 50% in just 30 minutes.
But wait, Apple is not forcing you to buy its shiny new charger at all. The company says you can just get any 60W USB-C charger in order to fast charge the new iPad Pro.
In case you’re wondering at this point whether or not the new iPad Pro ships with a fast charging adapter in the box – it does not. Apple says you get a 20W charger in the retail box, which is more than enough for most people.
From Apple’s website:
Fast-charge capable: Up to 50% charge in around 30 minutes with the 40W Dynamic Power Adapter with 60W Max or other USB‑C power adapter capable of providing 60W or higher (adapters sold separately)
But if you are the kind of person who wants to top up their iPad Pro as fast as possible, then that 60W charger you have lying around will come in handy.
I will recommend spending the extra money and get Apple’s 40W charger since it is compatible with the iPhone 17 lineup as well.
