iOS 26.1 and iPadOS 26.1 Brings Liquid Glass Improvements and More to iPhone and iPad – Here’s Everything New

Apple released iOS 26.1 and iPadOS 26.1 beta 2 just a while back. Now that the dust has settled, it has come to everyone’s attention that it includes two important changes for iPhone and iPad users.

Actually, it’s three, because the third one is just Liquid Glass refinements, which is expected to be a constantly updated thing.

So, without further ado, here’s everything new in iOS 26.1 and iPadOS 26.1 beta 2.

Slide Over Multitasking Makes a Comeback

iPadOS 26.1 Slide Over multitasking.

Apple has reintroduced Slide Over multitasking with iPadOS 26.1 beta 2. It’s not like how it was in iPadOS 18, but if you’ve missed the core functionality of the feature, you will be glad that it is coming back.

Massive Improvements to Alarms

Turning off an alarm on iPhone and iPad is as simple as pressing a button on the Lock Screen – a massive button, to be precise. This also means you can accidentally turn off an alarm instead of snoozing it because the buttons are too close to each other.

With iOS 26.1 beta 2, Apple has introduced a ‘Slide to stop’ slider in order to disable an alarm. This is pure genius, and something a lot of people can easily get behind.
