Apple really wants you to pay for extra storage and sign up to iCloud+ as it highlights 8 perks that come as part of the package.

Aren’t You Signed up to iCloud+? Apple is Giving You 8 Reasons Why You Should Do it Today

When you pay for iCloud+ – a fancy name for more Apple cloud storage – you get some perks in return for your iPhone, iPad, and Mac devices.

This includes Private Relay, HomeKit Secure Video, and a bunch more. And, for the first time ever, Apple is highlighting these perks to users on its iCloud website too.

According to Apple, this is the stuff you get when you pay $0.99 at least:

  • Storage – Space for photos, files, backups, and more.
  • Automatic Syncing – Sync and access your data across all your devices.
  • iCloud Private Relay – Keep your Safari browsing private.
  • Hide My Email – Keep your personal email address private.
  • Custom Email Domain – Personalize your iCloud email address with a custom domain.
  • HomeKit Secure Video – Store, analyze, and view encrypted video from your home security cameras.
  • Family Sharing – Share an iCloud+ plan with up to five family members.
  • Apple Invites – Create unique invitations and manage events.

In my opinion, the sweet spot in terms of price is the 2TB tier. For $9.99 a month, you get a ton of storage, and that’s the first slab in the list of plans to which you can add unlimited cameras to save all your security footage from your smart cameras.

There’s no cap at all. You can have a ton of cameras, and they will constantly upload footage to Apple’s servers when needed.

Secondly, 2TB of storage can be comfortably shared between family members as well. This means they can enable features like iCloud Photo Library and keep their photos and videos synced to the cloud.

But who am I to convince you to spend your money on storage, right? Let Apple do the talking.
