You can now download and install the first public beta of iOS 26.1 and iPadOS 26.1 on your iPhone and iPad.
Apple has Released the First Public Beta of iOS 26.1 and iPadOS 26.1 for iPhone and iPad – Available to Download Today
I was way off to suggest that the first public beta of iOS 26.1 and iPadOS 26.1 would become available once the third developer beta of the software update is released.
Apple has released the first public beta today, and anyone can go ahead and download it too.
All you have to do is sign up for the beta.apple.com website using your Apple account, and then go to Settings > General > Software Update > Beta Updates, and enable iOS 26 Public Beta from there.
Once you do that, you’ll immediately see iOS 26.1 and iPadOS 26.1 beta in the Software Update section. Tap on Update Now in order to begin the download.
Remember, if you want to downgrade back to iOS 26.0 or iPadOS 26.0, you do have that option. But, since this is a beta, the steps are rather tricky, and you’ll find all the details posted here.
Other than that, there are a few changes coming to iPhone and iPad with the new version 26.1 update. You can read about all the changes by going here.
