Wondering what is new in the newly released iOS 26.1 beta update for iPhone? Here are all the notable changes.

iOS 26.1 and iPadOS 26.1 are Packed with Tiny Changes and Improvements – Here’s Everything that is New

iOS 26.1 and iPadOS 26.1 are now available for download as a beta for iPhone and iPad devices. Just like any other 0.1 update from Apple, you can expect a bunch of changes from it.

While there are going to be countless refinements in updates like these, I am going to highlight the ones that stand out the most for iPhone and iPad users.

New Apple Intelligence Languages

Apple Intelligence is gaining new language support, and these are the new ones: Danish, Dutch, Norwegian, Portuguese, Swedish, Turkish, Chinese (Traditional), and Vietnamese.

New Live Translation Languages

The language trend continues, and you can expect your AirPods to translate more languages with the new iOS 26.1 update, including: Japanese, Korean, Italian, and Chinese (Mandarin Traditional and Simplified).

Phone App Gets More Liquid Glass

Open the Phone app, go to Keypad, and you’ll notice that the keypad numbers are now Liquid Glass rather than boring and flat. A nice touch, and definitely a good step to expand Liquid Glass further.

New Video Scrubber in Photos

Apple has updated the video scrubber (or slider) in the Photos app, making it easier to jump from one portion of the video to the other.

Improvements to Safari

The bottom Tab Bar has been visually improved, while the overall responsiveness of Safari has been improved as well.

New Song Switching Gesture in Apple Music

If you want to switch to the next or previous song, just swipe right or left on the name of the song in the Apple Music app.

Bug Fixes and Stability Improvements

Updates like these always focus on stability improvements that will become visible once the final version is released.
