Apple has released iOS 18.7 and iPadOS 18.7 RC for iPhone and iPad devices that do not wish to upgrade to iOS 26 and iPadOS 26.
iOS 18.7 and iPadOS 18.7 RC Now Available for Download for Those Who Don’t Want to Update to iOS 26 and iPadOS 26 Next Week
Just like last year, Apple is not going to force everyone to download the new iOS 26 or iPadOS 26 updates. For that reason, iOS 18.7 and iPadOS 18.7 RC has been released, and the final version of it will be available on Monday.
Basically, all you have to do is download iOS 18.7 or iPadOS 18.7 on Monday if you want to stick around on the older software for longer. Apple will also keep on releasing bug fixes and other improvements for your device for months to come.
Eventually, you will be required to install iOS 26 or iPadOS 26, but you can keep on enjoying iOS 18 and iPadOS 18 without any issues. This is a choice Apple is giving you, and it’s the real deal.
Whenever a new software update is out, it can be slightly overwhelming for some users. If you think the change is too much, or just want to see if there are any issues with iOS 26 or iPadOS 26, just download iOS 18.7 and iPadOS 18.7.
While the iOS 18.7 and iPadOS 18.7 updates will be available to download on Monday, you can just install the RC today and get over with it. First of all, sign up to beta.apple.com using your Apple Account.
Once that is done, go to Settings > General > Software Updates > Beta Updates. Over here, enable iOS 18 Public Beta. Then tap on Back at the top left corner. You’ll immediately see the iOS 18.7 and iPadOS 18.7 RC update.
Tap on Update Now underneath and you’ll be on iOS 18.7 and iPadOS 18.7 in a matter of minutes.
The newly released update will have the following build number: 22H20
