iOS 26 and iPadOS 26 beta 5 updates are out now for iPhone and iPad, and here’s everything new and notable this time around.
iOS 26 and iPadOS 26 Beta 5 Adds Refining Touches to iPhone and iPad Software – Here’s Everything that’s New
Unlike beta 4, the new beta 5 update is adding finishing touches to the software. Instead of adding big changes, Apple is now adding polishing things up for final release, which is set for next month.
New Animations
When you turn on your device’s display, you’ll see a new bouncy animation before entering your passcode or using Face ID. It’s a nice touch.
There’s even a new battery life animation on iPhone. You’ll see it in the Dynamic Island when battery goes below 20%.
More Liquid Glass
When you’re in ‘edit’ mode on the Home Screen, the (-) button on the top left of the app icon is now pure Liquid Glass, completely transparent, the way it should be.
New AirDrop Icon
AirDrop now has a new icon, and it fits much better with iOS 26 and iPadOS 26.
New Splash Screens
Apple has added splash screens for apps like Notes, Reminders, and more. This shows the user what’s new in the latest update.
Bug Fixes
Though it’s hard to put a finger on what bugs this update fixes, you will see a lot of improvements around your iPhone and iPad, especially if you are using the software on your primary device.
