Full and final version of the macOS 15.6 Sequoia update is now available for download on your Mac, and here’s how you can install it.

Apple Releases Final Version of macOS 15.6 Sequoia with Bug Fixes and Security Updates, Download and Install it Today

New updates for the Mac are always exciting, but if you’re not a developer or public beta tester, then it’s even more exciting for you.

macOS 15.6 Sequoia has been available for download for over a week at this point, only if you’re a developer or public beta tester. Today, the update is available for everyone.

As discussed earlier, this update fixes a lot of bugs and introduces a bunch of new security updates. What this means is, macOS 15.6 will make your Mac much better in all ways you can imagine.

Believe it or not, I prefer bug-fix updates more than anything else because the feeling of driving an ultra-smooth version of an operating system is simply unmatched.

If you want that feeling on your Mac as well, then make sure you download macOS 15.6 Sequoia, and here’s what you have to do:

  • Make sure you’ve saved your work and settings.
  • Launch System Settings.
  • Go to General > Software Update.
  • Wait for this page to refresh, and then click on Update Now.

macOS 15.6 Sequoia carries the build number 24G84.

The update will download first on your Mac, after which it will be installed. Since the update will take a while to fully complete, I suggest using this time to update other devices, if you have any.

Once the installation is complete, you can start using your Mac normally.

At this point in time, the attention is towards macOS 26 Tahoe, which is set for release later this year. It’s packed with a ton of great features, especially that brand new Liquid Glass interface.

Apple’s goal is to emphasize the content you’re currently looking at or working on with a greater sense of depth in the UI too. Whether this change will be a hit or a miss remains to be seen since the final version of the update will be available to download later this year.

For now, we have to deal with macOS Sequoia for a couple of more months, and Apple is hard at work keeping it as stable as possible for everyone, so make sure you grab the macOS 15.6 update right away.
