Apple has released the new iOS 26 and iPadOS 26 beta 4 update for iPhone and iPad devices. You should download and install it now.
New iOS 26 and iPadOS 26 Beta 4 Now Available to Download for iPhone and iPad with Bug Fixes and Other Improvements
It’s been two weeks since Apple released a new iOS 26 or iPadOS 26 beta. Toady is the big day, and everyone can go right ahead and download iOS 26 and iPadOS 26 developer beta 4 on iPhone and iPad.
Assuming you have the third beta installed, or maybe even some older version, then this is what you need to do in order to download the latest one:
- Connect your iPhone or iPad to Wi-Fi.
- Go to Settings > General > Software Update.
- When iOS 26 or iPadOS 26 beta 4 shows up, tap on Update Now.
The new update has a build number 23A5297i.
Since this is the fourth beta, we can expect the first public beta of iOS 26 and iPadOS 26 to be released this week as well. The public beta will likely carry the same build number and changes as today’s update.
Whether you want to test out the developer beta or public beta is entirely up to you. The biggest convenience that comes with the public beta is a far easier onboarding process, which I’ve outlined here.
If you are interested in installing the developer beta instead, be sure to go here. It’s free, and Apple doesn’t charge any fee at all to test out beta software, something a lot of people don’t know still.
There are going to be noticeable changes in this update, and I will point them out in a list, so make sure you stay on a lookout for that. I really hope Apple has reversed some of its Liquid Glass changes it made in developer beta 3.
Apple’s original announcement of Liquid Glass was nothing short of spectacular, but with developer beta 3, things started to look a little iOS 18-ish. Sure, it was done to make icons and text more readable, but hey, where did all my Liquid Glass go in the process?
Apple should ship iOS 26 and iPadOS 26 with a simple toggle control that switches between pure glass and an option that focuses more on readability. Let the user decide which one is best for them.
