A new report says Apple is going to ship the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max with a new anti-reflective display.

Apple Working on Anti-Reflective Displays for iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max that Offer Better Scratch Resistance too

Rumors of iPhone receiving an anti-reflective display comes and goes from time to time. But, a report from MacRumors says that the anti-reflective display is definitely happening this year as mass production of these displays is now possible.

The interesting thing is, this new anti-reflective display will be exclusive to the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max, while the standard iPhone 17 and iPhone 17 Air will have regular displays, reflective and all.

The new anti-reflective display is also said to be very scratch-resistant, and will fare way better than Apple’s Ceramic Shield, which means devices will hold up way better in everyday, regular use.

But will it be enough to ditch the trusty old screen protector? I wouldn’t vouch for it just yet until I see it in action.

It remains to be seen whether or not these displays will be anti-reflective like the nano-texture glass option that is available for iPad, Mac, and its external monitors. If the anti-reflectiveness effect is that harsh, it might look rather strange on an iPhone.

Reports say Apple is going all out with the ‘Pro’ lineup this year, with big batteries, faster processors, enhanced Dynamic Island experiences, and more. Looks like we can add display upgrades to the ever-expanding list too.
