Just so you know, Google Chrome is dropping support for macOS Big Sur later this month, will focus on macOS Monterey and up going forward.
Google Chrome is Dropping Support for macOS Big Sur Which was Released Back in 2020
Google has announced that its Chrome browser will be ending support for macOS 11 Big Sur at the end of this month, and will focus on macOS Monterey and up going forward.
Version 138.0 will be the last release of Chrome, which will ever be released for macOS Big Sur, after which Google will end support and stop issuing updates completely.
When Google does release version 139.0 of Chrome, it will work with macOS 12 Monterey and up only.
Sure, the web browser (version 138.0) will keep on working on Big Sur, but if there’s a security flaw or any other bug, it won’t be patched by Google going forward. Just keep that in mind.
If your Mac can run anything above macOS Big Sur, Google just gave you a reason to upgrade. If it doesn’t, then you really have to proceed with caution in terms of security.
