Apple has released a barrage of updates today, with watchOS 11.6 being one of them.
watchOS 11.6 is a bug fix release for Apple Watch, and developer beta 3 is available to download for those who have been testing out the software for quite some time.
In order to update your Apple Watch to developer beta 3 of watchOS 11.6, you have to place your device on its magnetic charger first. Once you have done that, follow these steps:
- Make sure your iPhone and Apple Watch are connected to a Wi-Fi network.
- Launch the Watch app on iPhone.
- Go to General > Software Update.
- Tap on Update Now when watchOS 11.6 beta 3 shows up.
Remember folks, watchOS updates take a long time to download and install. It’s been like that since the beginning of time, and I’m hopeful there will come a day when things will speed up slightly.
If you’re feeling adventurous and want to test out the public beta version of watchOS 11.6, you have the option to do that as well.
Just make sure you sign up to the beta.apple.com website using your Apple Account, then go to Watch > General > Software Updates > Beta Updates on your iPhone, and enable watchOS 11 Public Beta from here.
