Here’s how you can use the Screen Mirroring feature on your iPhone and iPad, allowing you to mirror the display to your Apple TV or Mac.
Mirror Your iPhone or iPad Display to a Bigger Screen with the Built-in Screen Mirroring Feature
The ability to mirror your iPhone or iPad display to a bigger screen is a game changer. And the fact that it works flawlessly every single time feels like magic too.
As long as you have an Apple TV, a TV that supports AirPlay, or even a Mac connected to the same Wi-Fi network, you too can mirror your iPhone or iPad display to it, thanks to Screen Mirroring.
Setting things up is easy, and it all begins by making sure that all of your devices are connected to the same Wi-Fi network. Once that is done, here’s what you need to do:
Step 1. On your iPhone or iPad, swipe down from the top right corner to bring up Control Center.
Step 2. Find the Screen Mirroring button and tap on it.
If you’ve accidentally removed it, you can re-add it by pressing the + button on the top left, then select Add a Control. Now find the Screen Mirroring toggle switch and add it anywhere you like in Control Center.

Step 3. Select either your Apple TV, your AirPlay-capable TV, or your Mac.
Note: If you don’t see your Mac in the list of devices, make sure AirPlay Receiver is enabled on your Mac by going to System Settings > General > AirDrop & Handoff.

Step 4. You’ll instantly see your iPhone or iPad mirrored to the bigger display.
Wanna see something fun? Rotate your iPhone or iPad from portrait to landscape mode, and it will rotate on the bigger screen too.
Turn Off Screen Mirroring
If you want to turn off Screen Mirroring, just tap on the Screen Mirroring button again, and then select Stop Mirroring.

While this feature is great, you also have the option to use your iPad as a secondary display for your Mac. If you haven’t tried it so far, you should, and I’ve covered it in detail here.
