You can now download and install iOS 18.6 and iPadOS 18.6 public beta 2 on your iPhone and iPad right away.
Apple has Just Released iOS 18.6 and iPadOS 18.6 Public Beta 2 with Same Changes as Developer Beta 2
The second developer beta of iOS 18.6 and iPadOS 18.6 was released yesterday. It was only a matter of time Apple would release the same build for public beta testers.
Today, Apple has done just that and you can now download and install iOS 18.6 and iPadOS 18.6 public beta 2 on your iPhone and iPad.
Assuming you do have the first public beta installed, just follow these steps in order to update to the second one:
- Launch the Settings app.
- Tap on General.
- Now tap on Software Update.
- Tap on Update Now when iOS 18.6 public beta 2 shows up.
As I said, this is the same build as the second developer beta, which means it has the exact same bug fixes, security fixes, and performance improvements.

Basically, you sign up to the beta.apple.com website using your Apple Account and then enable public beta updates by going to Settings > General > Software Update > Beta Updates.
Once that is done, you will start seeing beta updates for your iPhone and iPad as they become available.
