Apple just updated Pixelmator Pro with support for Apple Intelligence on the Mac. Update it now from the App Store.

Pixelmator Pro Version 3.7 Released by Apple with Full Support for Apple Intelligence, Including Image Playground and Writing Tools

Pixelmator was bought by Apple a while back, and its acquisition was complete earlier this year. During that time, Pixelmator Pro has received a bunch of updates, but the biggest one arrives today.

Version 3.7 for the Mac adds full support for Apple Intelligence, allowing users to take advantage of Apple’s AI features – more specifically, Image Playground and Writing Tools.

With support for Image Playground, Apple says that you can create fun and original images straight from Pixelmator Pro. You can either use an existing photo as a point of reference, describe it using text, or just base it off a photo of someone in your Photos library.

Next up is support for Writing Tools, allowing users to proofread, summarize, rewrite, or generate text using ChatGPT. This is a great feature to have around, especially if you plan to use Pixelmator Pro for creating banners, brochures, or maybe even a bento box-style marketing material.

Obviously, Apple Intelligence isn’t the only thing new in this update. This update includes a bunch of fixes, improvements, and general performance enhancements.

The new update is available to download for free, if you have already purchased Pixelmator Pro. Just head over to the App Store and click on that Update button.

As someone who solely uses Pixelmator Pro for creating images on this website, I find this upgrade quite welcoming. Anything and everything that supports Apple’s core features is only going to make the ecosystem even stronger.
