A new report says that Apple’s standard and base model iPhone 17 will have a larger 6.3-inch display, up from current 6.1-inch on iPhone 16.

Leaked Information Hints at Standard iPhone 17 Model Getting a Display Size Upgrade

If you look at the iPhone 16 lineup, you’ll notice something very interesting. The base model iPhone 16 and iPhone 16e have a 6.1-inch display, the iPhone 16 Plus has a 6.7-inch display, the iPhone 16 Pro has a 6.3-inch display, while the Pro Max goes out all with a 6.9-inch display.

The interesting part is how the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Pro have very different screen sizes.

Leaked information shared by Digital Chat Station on Weibo paints an interesting picture in terms of display size for the iPhone 17 lineup, and it says that Apple’s base model iPhone will have a larger 6.3-inch display, just like the iPhone 16 Pro.

With that display size in mind, this is what the iPhone 17 lineup will look like: the iPhone 17 Air will have a 6.6-inch display, the iPhone 17 Pro will have a 6.3-inch display as well, and the iPhone 17 Pro Max will keep the 6.9-inch display.

There is one thing the leaked information does not talk about, and that’s the iPhone 17e.

I have this feeling that Apple is going to keep the 6.1-inch display around with the iPhone 17e, if it does plan to release it next year. However, if it does get an upgrade and keeps the same price of $599, it will really add to the overall value of the smartphone.

That, and the move from a notch to a Dynamic Island.

We are still a few months away from the release of the iPhone 17 lineup, and information will keep on coming with every passing day. And I really hope the iPhone 17 does get a screen size upgrade, as it will make it a very good purchase for those who don’t want to spend Plus money just for a larger display.
