The first beta of the tvOS 18.6 software update is now available for download and install on Apple TV.

Do you want that favorite TV show and movie to play as smoothly as possible on your Apple TV? Then you might not want to download the latest update.
Available for developers only, you can download tvOS 18.6 on your Apple TV right now if you’re enrolled in the Developer Program. It’s absolutely free, and once you sign up for it, the update will be available to you over the air.
In order to enable developer beta updates on your Apple TV, you have to launch Settings, open System, then open Software Updates. Here, a new option called Get Beta Updates will show up. Open it and then select tvOS 18 Developer Beta.
Again, I won’t recommend installing the first beta on your Apple TV, especially if it’s the centerpiece of your living room entertainment.
Developer beta number 1 is always the most unstable one, and it’s best to install updates like these when a couple of updates have been released.
