Apple is about to do something special for the 2027 iPhone. One report said the company is going to introduce a major redesign to the lineup to mark the special occasion, and will probably use a lot of glass.
A report from Bloomberg says that while the redesign is definitely happening in 2027, the upcoming iPhone is going to be ‘extraordinarily complex’ when it comes to manufacturing.
Due to this reason, Apple is going to stick with China for building the new iPhone.
This is actually a very important point. Because, the United States of America and China are currently having a tariff war with each other and Apple wants to move its manufacturing to India for most of its devices.
Despite its best efforts, the complexity of the 2027 iPhone means Apple may have to stick with China for manufacturing the device. However, who knows? The advanced manufacturing techniques might be available in India by 2027.
Apple does plan to manufacture all iPhones in India by 2026. It’s an extremely ambitious move and one which only Tim Cook can pull off.
