Apple and LG are partnering together to create a bunch of smart home accessories, including doorbells, cameras, and more.
LG is Making Smart Home Devices and Accessories with Help from Apple, Leaked Images Already Appearing Online
According to Bloomberg, LG is working on these smart home products, and they are being developed with help from Apple. Interestingly, it has been rumored in the past that Apple is working on self-branded smart home accessories, but it seems like it’s a partnership with LG instead.
This isn’t the first time Apple has partnered with LG for a product, as the LG UltraFine 5K and 4K are a great examples. It seems like both companies are doing it again, but this time for smart home stuff.
It’s very likely that Apple is doing this to showcase its upcoming smart home hub, which is rumored to debut on the 13th of October. However, the rumored smart home devices won’t be available to buy for several months at least.
FCC filings have revealed that LG is working on several smart home devices, and they include: video doorbell, smart thermostat, smart deadbolt lock, temperature sensor, indoor, outdoor security, and floodlight cameras.
While the FCC filings have been kept ‘secret’ from the public, nothing is secret on the internet, and someone has already leaked the images of products LG and Apple are working on.
Apple’s smart home hub with a built-in display is definitely going to be a great device for the living room, but Apple has to market it properly in order for it to make sense to the average buyer.
There is a chance some of these LG devices could be ready for demo purposes only, and we might get a glimpse of them on the 13th, which happens to be next week.
