A while ago, Apple stopped signing iOS 26.5.2 and iPadOS 26.5.2 firmware updates for iPhone and iPad.
You Can No Longer Downgrade to iOS 26.5.2 or iPadOS 26.5.2 as Apple has Stopped Signing the Older Firmware
Since Apple is no longer signing the 26.5.2 updates, it means you cannot downgrade from iOS 26.6 or iPadOS 26.6 anymore. This is completely normal, because Apple was going to do that anyway.
Whenever a new software update comes out, Apple stops signing the older one after a while. Apple does this so that users install the latest firmware with bug fixes and security updates.
If you’re currently on iOS 26.5.2 or iPadOS 26.5.2, I highly recommend updating to the latest firmware immediately because it is packed with loads of bug fixes and security updates.
In order to update your iPhone or iPad, just head over to Settings > General > Software Update on your device.
If you were planning to downgrade your iPhone or iPad to 26.5.2, you cannot do that anymore, and it’s not recommended that you try something that promises a downgrade either. Because once Apple is no longer signing the older software update, there’s nothing you can do to downgrade.
