Ever since I installed iPadOS 26.6 on my iPad Pro, I’ve noticed a significant improvement in performance.

iPadOS 26.6 Gives Older iPad Models a Big Boost in Performance, Download it Today

I’m talking about the 12.9-inch M1 iPad Pro here. This model was taking the iPhone 6 Plus route where constant frame drops and slowdowns were part of daily usage routine.

Though the iPad Pro mostly worked fine, but the occasional frame drops were starting to get very noticeable, and sometimes annoying. With iPadOS 26.6, all of those issues are suddenly gone. Almost like Apple looked at every iPad user and went ‘what issues?’.

Apart from the above, I am seeing similar improvements on my M1 iPad Air, 11-inch M1 iPad Pro, and an old fourth-generation iPad Air I have lying around.

If you do have an iPad lying around, make sure you update it to iPadOS 26.6 immediately. This truly is the update that will fix your iPad performance woes.

I’ll wrap things up by saying that you’ll see similar improvements on the iPhone as well with iOS 26.6. It is truly stunning how much difference a carefully crafted software update can make.
