iOS 26.5.1 Now Available for Download with Crucial Wired Charging Fix for iPhone 17 and iPhone Air Devices
If you drained your iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Pro, or iPhone Air battery all the way to zero, and noticed that your phone didn’t boot up even though it is connected to a wired charger – it’s a bug, not a feature.
You can fix this issue by simply connecting your iPhone to a MagSafe charger, and it will boot right up in a matter of minutes. But the problem is, not everyone has that kind of wireless charger lying around.
Apple is well aware of this issue and has released a fix for it in the form of the iOS 26.5.1 update. And, it’s important to note that this update is only available for iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Pro, iPhone 17 Pro Max, iPhone 17e, and the iPhone Air.
In order to download the update right now, simply head over to Settings > General > Software Update. Tap on Update Now to begin download.

Do keep in mind that the above issue does not affect each and every single user out there with the latest iPhone. Nonetheless, you should download the update immediately anyway. Who knows you might be affected by this issue and you simply don’t know about it.
For every other iPhone and iPad out there, the latest version still sits at iOS 26.5 and iPadOS 26.5, and it is not a bug if you don’t see the ‘26.5.1’ update on your device.
