iOS 26.5 and iPadOS 26.5 RC updates are now available for iPhone and iPad, and here’s how you can download them right now.
iOS 26.5 and iPadOS 26.5 RC Now Available for Download, Anyone Can Install it Right Away
As expected, Apple has released the first RC build of the iOS 26.5 and iPadOS 26.5 software updates. If you are already a developer or a public beta tester, this update is available to you over the air.
All you have to do is go to Settings > General > Software Update, and then tap on Update Now. The update will download to your device, and then install in a few minutes.
However, anyone can go right ahead and download the update on their iPhone and iPad. All you have to do is sign up to Apple’s public beta program, which happens to be completely free.
In order to do that, go to beta.apple.com on your web browser, and then sign up using the Apple Account you’re using on your device. Once signed up, go to Settings > General > Software Update > Beta Updates, and select iOS/iPadOS 26 Public Beta.
The moment you make this selection, the RC update will become available to you under the Software Update section. Just tap on Update Now and download it like any other software update.
In order to make sure you do not end up receiving beta updates, go to Settings > General > Software Update > Beta Updates and select Off. This ensures that you stay on the final version of Apple’s software, and beta updates won’t be pushed to you in the background.
