Apple has released a new firmware update 8E258 for the AirPods Max 2, and it is rolling out now as we speak.

AirPods Max 2 Firmware 8E258 Now Available for Download with Bug Fixes

8E258 is the latest firmware for the AirPods Max 2, and if you currently see 8E251 on your AirPods Max 2, it means you’re currently one version behind. But don’t worry, you can force the update onto your AirPods by following a few steps.

The steps include connecting your AirPods Max 2 to your iPhone or iPad, and then make sure both devices are connected to a power source using a USB-C cable. After around 30 minutes, your AirPods will be update to version 8E258.

You can do this for any AirPods model, and you’ll find all the details on it posted here.

You can confirm the new update has been installed by connecting your AirPods to your iPhone, iPad, or Mac, and then going to Settings > AirPods, and checking the version number at the bottom.

Apple doesn’t say what the new update brings to AirPods Max 2, so it’s safe to assume that this is nothing more than a bug fix release.
