iOS 27 is just around the corner, and a new report says that Apple is bringing a new Siri mode to the Camera app for an enhanced experience.

Camera App in iOS 27 is About to Get Very Smart with the New Siri Mode and the Ability to Read Nutrition Labels and More

With the new Siri expected to be a part of iOS 27, it only makes sense that Apple gives its AI efforts an overhaul, or a fresh start, for that matter. According to Bloomberg, Apple is planning to bring quite a bit of changes throughout the system, with the Camera app being one of them.

The report says that the Camera app in iOS 27 will include a new ‘Siri’ mode, which will be separate from Photo, Video, etc. Once in Siri mode, the shutter button will turn into the Siri logo, allowing you to access Apple Intelligence features.

Basically, this is Visual Intelligence, but moved to the Camera app, which makes far more sense.

The Siri mode will allow you to read nutrient labels, do a reverse image search using Google, tap into ChatGPT for detailed answers, and so more. The report also says that you can simply scan something like a business card or even a poster to turn it into a contact or a calendar event, respectively.

I’m sure a lot of users will find the nutrition label reader feature useful, especially if you’re into tracking your calorie intake on a daily basis.

Apple is going to announce iOS 27, and other software updates, at WWDC26 in June. The first beta of the update should arrive immediately after the opening keynote, and those enrolled in the Apple Developer Program will be able to download it before anyone else.
