iOS 26.4.2 and iPadOS 26.4.2 Now Available for Download with Bug Fixes and Security Updates for iPhone and iPad

Just like iOS 26.4.1 and iPadOS 26.4.1, Apple has released another bug fix update in the form of 26.4.2. The update is available over the air, and you should download it immediately.

Apart from bug fixes, Apple says version 26.4.2 includes security updates as well. This makes the update even more important, especially if you care about the safety and security of data on your iPhone and iPad.

If you want to download the new update immediately, just follow these steps:

  • Launch the Settings app.
  • Go to General > Software Update.
  • When iOS 26.4.2 or iPadOS 26.4.2 shows up, tap on Update Now.

Apple says the new updates have the following build number: 23E261

The update may take a while to download and install, therefore it’s a good idea to put your iPhone and iPad aside while the process is happening.
