The Mac saw its best launch week ever for first-time Mac customers, according to Apple CEO Tim Cook.
Apple has a Hit in its Hands with the MacBook Neo – First-Time Mac Buyers Jumping Onboard in Huge Numbers
Apple going for the $599 price point was not a mistake. The MacBook Neo is the perfect portable computer at that price point since it offers the best of Mac with compromises that do not matter to the average user, such as lack of True Tone.
Turns out, the formula which Apple devised for MacBook Neo worked out perfectly, and CEO Tim Cook says that the “Mac just had its best launch week ever for first-time Mac customers.”
I’ve seen a lot of commentary surrounding the MacBook Neo, and some ridiculous takes on how it’s not a good computer. For example, I keep hearing that it’s not a great laptop for editing high-end 4K footage, that’s why it sucks and everyone should get a MacBook Air or a MacBook Pro.
I mean, really? Is editing 4K footage the only thing people are doing on a computer these days? Nothing else? What happened to the good old fashioned web browsing? Or just sending a text message to a friend?
It boggles my mind how pundits are disconnected from the average user that needs a computer that doesn’t cost much, zips through daily tasks, and has great battery life. Surprisingly, the MacBook Neo goes above and beyond anyway thanks to Apple silicon.
For the longest time, I’ve recommended getting the MacBook Air for first-time Mac buyers. With the Neo around, I’m happily changing my recommendation. Just save your money and get a computer that works for you 99% of the time. Those extra efficiency or performance cores look nice on paper but totally go to waste in everyday tasks.
