Apple is reportedly facing challenges shipping the new Gemini-powered Siri with iOS 26.4, so it may delay it to iOS 26.5 or iOS 27.
Siri Facing Internal Challenges, Apple May Delay All of it, or Certain Features to iOS 26.5 or iOS 27
A while back, it came to light that Apple signed a deal with Google, allowing Gemini to power the new version of Siri. That version, according to different reports, is going to ship with iOS 26.4, with the first beta coming on the week starting February 23rd.
However, according to a new report by Bloomberg, Apple might not release the new Siri with the iOS 26.4 update, and instead might choose iOS 26.5 for it. There is a chance Apple might just roll it out with iOS 27 as well.
The thing is, there is absolutely no official word on when the new Siri will roll out. Apple made a promise that it is coming this year, and even if Apple releases it at the last minute of 2026, it will still be a promise kept.
There is a slight chance that Apple may release the new Siri with personal context features, allowing it to tap into messages and email, while the rest of the features are further delayed to iOS 26.5 and beyond.
The report goes into detail regarding the issues Apple is facing with the new version of Siri, and says the assistant sometimes takes a while to respond. Apple is also designing Siri in a way that it taps into ChatGPT for certain requests as well.
