A new report says that Apple is working on three AI smart devices, including smart glasses, a wearable pendant, and AirPods with cameras.

Apple is Taking AI Seriously and Currently Working on Three Dedicated Devices that are Set to Release Soon

Bloomberg has published a new report saying that Apple is currently working on three devices with AI. The report does go into detail what each device will do, but I’m going to keep things as simple as possible for everyone.

Smart Glasses

Powered using the new version of Siri, these glasses will have cameras for taking pictures, recording video, or scanning stuff around you in order to get answers using AI.

These glasses don’t have a built-in display and rely on voice for everything. And since that’s the case, you can use the glasses for listening to music or even attending phone calls as well. After all… voice!

Apple is planning to ship these in multiple sizes, colors, and will feature premium materials in order to stand out from the competition.

When it comes to battery life, Apple is aiming for an entire day’s of use while interacting with AI on a single charge.

Apple is said to launch the AI smart glasses some time in 2027, and may go into production as early as this year.

Wearable Pendant

Apple’s wearable pendant (or pin) will include cameras to scan the world around the user in order to decipher everything using AI. There will be a built-in speaker so that users can interact with Siri and have conversations naturally.

The device can be worn around the neck or attached to a t-shirt using a clip.

The most interesting thing about this device is how it will serve as a companion to your iPhone and not a standalone device. Your iPhone will handle most of the processing and the pendant itself will include a low power chip.

If Apple plans to continue work on the pendant, we should see it hit shelves some time around 2027.

AirPods with Cameras

Apple is also said to be working on a pair of AirPods with built-in cameras that will be able to see the world around the user and use AI to give answers wherever needed. A simple concept that can actually be very helpful, if done right.

These AirPods are said to launch this year, and it will be interesting to see if they are offered as an optional upgrade to an existing lineup like the AirPods Pro, or be an entirely different product.

Conclusion

So far, dedicated AI hardware hasn’t done that great in the market. The only reason the Meta Ray-Bans are popular is because of the built-in camera for recording POV video. It’s definitely the coolest thing you can do, and the footage that comes out of it is excellent.

Even if Apple’s smart glasses don’t succeed as a popular AI gadget, at least they have a chance to stick around as a face-mounted camera.
