Apple has released a new firmware update for AirPods Pro 2 and AirPods Pro 3, bringing the versions up to 8B25 and 8B21, respectively.
Apple Releases New Firmware Updates for AirPods Pro 3 and AirPods Pro 2 – 8B21 and 8B25
In early October, Apple released firmware version 8A358 for AirPods Pro 3 and AirPods 4. Today, Apple is focusing on AirPods Pro 3 and AirPods Pro 2 with the release of firmware updates 8B21 and 8B25.
Since Apple doesn’t go into too much detail regarding what’s new in these updates, it’s safe to assume that these are bug-fix updates only, which automatically means they’re important.
There’s no way to manually download and install the new firmware update. But Apple does provide a tutorial on how to force the update onto your AirPods. You’ll find the complete details on that posted here.
I will suggest leaving your AirPods Pro 3 and AirPods Pro 2 alone and let ‘time’ install the new firmware on its own. It doesn’t take more than a couple of days for the update to automatically install on its own.
