The first developer beta of watchOS 26.2 is now available for download. If you have an Apple Watch, you too can install it.

Apple Releases First Developer Beta of watchOS 26.2 for Apple Watch, Download it Now for Free

If you’re enjoying the final version of watchOS 26.1 and wondering what’s next in line, then Apple has an answer with you in the form of watchOS 26.2 developer beta 1.

Just like any other Apple Watch beta from Apple, there are a bunch of precautions you need to take, with the obvious one being the inability to downgrade back to the public software channel.

Once you upgrade your Apple Watch to watchOS 26.2 beta, there’s no going back to watchOS 26.1 no matter what you did or who you talked to. It’s a one way street and you have to install each and every single beta until the final one arrives.

In order to download the new beta, you must be a registered developer with Apple. You can sign up to the Developer Program for free, and Apple doesn’t charge a dime to test out beta software.

Once signed up and ready to roll, launch the Watch app on your iPhone, go to General > Software Update > Beta Update and enable watchOS 26 Developer Beta. Once done, you’ll see watchOS 26.2 beta immediately become available for download.

Tap on the Download and Install button, and the update process will commence.

According to Apple, the new beta update has the following build number: 23S5280e

If there’s anything worth talking about in this update, I will definitely highlight it in a separate blog post, so stay tuned for that.
