You Can Now Download Beta Firmware Update 8B5014c for AirPods 4, AirPods Pro 3, and AirPods Pro 2
If you’re willing to test out new beta firmware on your AirPods, then you’re in luck today. Apple has just released a new beta build for AirPods 4, AirPods Pro 3, and AirPods Pro 2, and anyone can test it out.
If you are currently on iOS 26 or iPadOS 26, you will find all the details posted here, and macOS 26 Tahoe users can go here. Do keep in mind that you have to be signed up to the Apple Developer Program in order to take the update for a spin.
The Developer Program is absolutely free, but it takes a bit of effort to sign up for it.
Public beta testers will be able to download the firmware, but it will be available at a later date. Nonetheless, the steps for enabling and downloading the firmware is posted here. And unlike the Developer Program, Apple’s public beta program is very easy to sign up to.
Do keep one thing in one mind, once you download this firmware update, you cannot downgrade back to the publicly available version of the AirPods firmware.
At the time of writing, it’s unconfirmed what the firmware brings to AirPods 4, AirPods Pro 3, and AirPods Pro 2. But given that these AirPods are the only ones that support Live Translation, it’s likely that it adds support for more languages in this update.
