Apple has brought back the MagSafe Battery Pack accessory, but now it’s called the iPhone Air MagSafe Battery.
Apple Brings Back the MagSafe Battery Pack for iPhone Air, Providing 65% More Battery to Apple’s New iPhone
The MagSafe Battery Pack was the best accessory Apple ever made, and everyone was wondering if it would ever come back. It has, but with too many downsides if you are not an iPhone Air user.
First of all, it’s for the iPhone Air only, not for iPhone 17, not for iPhone 17 Pro, not for anything else. Just iPhone Air, because it’s designed to fit this particular iPhone.
The iPhone Air MagSafe Battery exists to extend the life of Apple’s thin and light smartphone and provide an additional 65% charge when fully utilized.
It’s a very smart battery pack, and will take care of your device’s battery health by smartly charging the iPhone Air at the right time. Or, if you instantly want to recharge, just attach the battery to your iPhone Air, and you’ll get 12W of power on the go.
If you connect the battery to a USB-C cable, you can achieve faster charging speeds. Although Apple doesn’t say how fast, I’m assuming it’s capped around 15W, which is more than enough.
There is a USB-C port on the iPhone Air MagSafe Battery. Apple says you can use it to charge ‘smaller accessories.’ I’m sure this includes the AirPods and Apple Watch.
It’s definitely not cheap either, and you’re going to spend $99 if you do want one. But will it be worth it? As someone who still uses the MagSafe Battery Pack to this minute, yes, it is.
