Apple is currently working on an AI-powered search feature that will be part of the new Siri that is set for launch in early 2026.

LLM Siri will Feature a New ‘World Knowledge Answers’ Search Feature, Similar to Google’s AI Overviews

As we get closer to 2026, we are getting closer to the promised launch of the more powerful Siri.

While there’s no exact date when the new Siri will be launched, today’s report by Bloomberg sheds light on the feature that will be part of the Siri package, and that’s AI-powered search.

Internally known as ‘World Knowledge Answers,’ you can ask Siri questions, and it will give you an AI overview of it. Think AI overviews in Google search, and you’re not too far off from what Apple is working on.

Though the search will be powered by Apple Foundation Models, it will also work with third-party services as well whenever needed.

In fact, Apple and Google have actually reached a deal, and web searches will be handled by a version of Gemini that will run on Apple’s Private Cloud Compute.

You will be able to type your queries to Siri, or upload photos and videos, if you want to make your queries even richer and get better replies in return.

The feature is said to be a part of Siri, so that is the place where you’ll be asking all your questions. There is a chance Apple might expand the feature to other areas of its operating system, such as Spotlight search.

This feature is likely going to be a part of a future release of iOS 26, iPadOS 26, and macOS 26 Tahoe. I will be surprised if Apple takes it all the way and announces it as part of a future operating system such as iOS 27.
