Developer beta 5 of macOS 26 Tahoe is now available for download and install for the Mac with bug fixes and other improvements.
Apple Releases macOS 26 Tahoe Beta 5 with Bug Fixes and Other Improvements, Download it Today
I’m sure you’ve been enjoying the cool breeze of macOS 26 Tahoe developer beta 4 for a couple of weeks. Today, you need to let go of that and download macOS 26 Tahoe developer beta 5 with even more improvements and fixes.
Needless to say, it’s an exciting day for Mac users.
In order to download the new beta over the air, this is what you have to do:
- Launch System Settings.
- Click on General on the left.
- On the right you’ll see a bunch of options. Click on Software Update at the top.
- When macOS 26 Tahoe developer beta 5 shows up, click on Update Now next to it.
The new update has the following build number: 25A5327h
The update will start to download immediately and will take up to half an hour to install. This is normal, and your Mac will become unusable during the entire process.
Once the installation is complete, you can start enjoying an even more stable version of macOS 26 Tahoe. Not as crisp as the final version, but it’s slowly getting there.
There is a chance Apple might have changed a few things in this update. I’ll highlight them in a list, if it’s worth mentioning. Hopefully, the list won’t include Apple dialing down the Liquid Glass effect just to please a couple of users.
If you are currently testing the macOS 26 Tahoe public beta, you won’t see the new update on your end. But, Apple will release the second public beta soon given the developer beta was released just now.
Ready to test out macOS 26 Tahoe on your Mac? You can either download the developer beta or public beta. I will suggest installing the public beta since the signing up process is super-duper simple.
Whichever route you end up taking, you should know that you’re testing pre-release software. It will be unstable, might not work great with third-party apps, and may cause battery life issues on the MacBook Air and MacBook Pro.
These things are normal when testing beta software, but with each and every beta update, the software will start to stabilize. Therefore, keep on checking for new beta updates from time to time and install them the moment they become available.
