Looks like the new Siri is nearing its launch as Apple is testing the App Intents feature with a number of third-party apps.
Apple is Currently Working with Third-Party Apps like Uber for Siri App Intents
If you recall the announcement of the Apple Intelligence-powered Siri from last year, then you already know about the new and advanced App Intents feature as well.
Using App Intents, you will be able to ask Siri to perform advanced actions within an app, something you can’t do currently.
For example, you can ask Siri to leave a comment on a certain social media post or have it reply to a very particular email in a certain way, all without touching your iPhone, iPad, and Mac.
Basically, you will be able to control your device completely hands-free and do stuff which isn’t possible with the current version of Siri.
Turns out, Apple is in the advanced stages of testing this feature, and it’s currently working with a bunch of third-party apps, according to Mark Gurman from Bloomberg.
Here are some of the apps Apple is working with for App Intents: Uber, Facebook, Amazon, YouTube, Threads, WhatsApp, and more. And of course, the feature will deeply tie with Apple’s own apps as well.
Tim Cook said his company is making good progress on the new Siri, while an all-hands meeting was held just a while back, ensuring employees that Apple will make any investment to meet its AI goals.
While that sounds great and all, it means nothing if Apple misses its early 2026 goal of shipping the new and advanced Siri.
