Here it is! You can now download and install the watchOS 26 developer beta 4 update for your Apple Watch over the air.

watchOS 26 Beta 4 Update for Apple Watch Now Available for Download with Bug Fixes and Many Other Improvements

It’s hard to imagine Apple was able to bring Liquid Glass to Apple Watch with the new watchOS 26 update. Though it has dialed back on the UI a little with the most recent beta, I have this feeling the final version of the software is going to be immensely great-looking.

Today, the developer beta 4 of watchOS 26 has arrived, and you can download and install it right now on your Apple Watch.

If you already have watchOS 26 beta 3 running on your device, just follow these steps to get up to speed:

  • Launch the Watch app on your iPhone.
  • Go to General, and then Software Update.
  • When the new watchOS 26 beta 4 shows up, tap on Update Now.
  • Place your Apple Watch on its magnetic charger to begin the download.

The new update has a build number of 23R5317g.

The update will take a while to download and install, which is completely normal for Apple Watch updates.

Apple will likely release the first public beta of watchOS 26 this week. But, if you don’t want to wait at all, then you can download the developer beta instead, which is absolutely free as well.

Before you download the watchOS 26 beta on your Apple Watch, please know that you must have iOS 26 installed on your iPhone. If you don’t, then the watchOS 26 update won’t even show up for you.

One last thing: once you install watchOS 26 beta, you cannot downgrade back to watchOS 11 at all. This means if something goes wrong, you’re stuck on watchOS 26 for a while.

The final version of watchOS 26 will become available for download later this year.
