Apple has just released developer beta 3 of the tvOS 26 software update for Apple TV. You can go right ahead and download it.

In terms of features, tvOS 26 doesn’t bring too much to the table, and instead focuses on refining features that are already there while bringing the gorgeous Liquid Glass design to the large screen.
While the full and final version of the update is coming later this year, we have to deal with a bunch of betas in the meantime. And today, developer beta 3 of tvOS 26 is available for download as well.
In order to download the new tvOS 26 beta, assuming you have an older update installed, just follow these steps:
Step 1. Launch the Settings app from your Apple TV Home Screen.
Step 2. Scroll the way down and open System.
Step 3. Now open Software Updates.
Step 4. Now open Update Software.
Step 5. When the new tvOS 26 beta update becomes available, begin with the download.

Although tvOS betas are usually safe to test out, I will still suggest going ahead with caution. There is a chance you may run into issues, and your favorite app may not be fully compatible with the update.
Do keep one more thing in mind: Liquid Glass is compatible with recent Apple TV models only. If you have an old Apple TV that is not showing you any signs of Liquid Glass even after installing tvOS 26, that’s perfectly normal.
Liquid Glass requires a little bit of CPU and GPU power, and older Apple TV models don’t have that.
