Apple’s fantastic Shot on iPhone campaign is now 10 years old, and it just won the Cannes Grand Prix award.

Agency Behind Apple’s Shot on iPhone Campaign Wins the Cannes Grand Prix Award for ‘Stunning Execution’

The award was given to advertising agency TBWA\Media Arts Lab (Los Angeles) for Creative Effectiveness at the 2025 Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity held in Cannes, France.

In case you’re wondering, that’s the agency that came up with the campaign back in 2015 when the iPhone 6 came out. And the whole point of the campaign was to get people onboard to share photos and videos they’ve shot using their iPhone.

10 years later the campaign is still going strong, and we end up seeing a ton of content generated by users and experts with the ‘Shot on iPhone’ tagline.

In fact, Apple shared a short film just yesterday that was completely shot on the iPhone 16 Pro.

CEO of advertising agency GUT, Andrea Diquez said:

The campaign stood out as a masterclass in elevating user-generated content to build a long-term platform with stunning execution

It’s truly remarkable how successful this campaign has been for Apple. Just open up any social media platform and search for the hashtag ‘shotoniphone’, and you’ll be surprised at the number of posts you end up seeing.

Shot on iPhone isn’t just a one-time ad; it’s a complete movement that takes the audience with it forward.
