Apple has released macOS 15.5 Sequoia, the final update for the Mac. Here’s how to download it and everything that is new.
macOS 15.5 Sequoia Now Available for Download with Tons of Bug Fixes, Security Updates and Under-the-Hood Improvements
Before I talk about how to download the update, check out what’s new in macOS 15.5 first:
This update includes enhancements, bug fixes, and security updates for your Mac.
Some features may not be available for all regions, or on all Apple devices.

This is purely a bug-fix update, nothing else. There are no new features at all, which isn’t a bad thing, because not every update has to add something new to your device, in this case, your Mac.
That being said, let me show you how you can download and install the macOS 15.5 Sequoia update on your Mac right away.
First of all, save all your work, because you will be required to restart the Mac in order to complete the installation. Once everything is saved, just go to System Settings > General > Software Update.
Wait for this page to properly refresh, and the macOS 15.5 update will show right up. Click on the Update Now button, and the firmware will start to download immediately.
Do keep in mind that Mac updates take a while to install, so you may want to step back for a bit before you can resume working on your computer.
If you’re looking to download the macOS 15.5 Sequoia firmware file for an Apple silicon Mac, you can download it from this link.
Already have the macOS 15.5 RC installed on your Mac? You don’t have to do anything at all. This is the same update which is now available for everyone.
I will suggest installing the update right away to ensure that your Mac runs at its full potential. If you were facing bugs in the previous update, hopefully they have been completely removed in this one.
