Apple’s latest MacBook Air with M4 gave Apple a massive boost in growth compared to everyone else in the first quarter.
Lower Cost M4 MacBook Air Gives Apple a Boost in Growth, Up 17% from Last Year
The one move that really raised a lot of eyebrows this year was the announcement of M4 MacBook Air. Not only is it fast, but it’s great value for money with its starting price of $999.
According to the latest data published by Counterpoint Research, the entire PC industry saw a growth of 6.7% year-over-year, with a total of 61.4 million units of devices shipped.
Apple led the pack with a massive growth of 17%, primarily driven by the newly launched M4 MacBook Air. The only other company that saw double-digit growth was Lenovo, thanks to the launch of new products just recently.
While this may sound like great news for Apple, do keep in mind that sales saw a boost right before the fear of tariffs kicked in. In other words, people panicked and bought a lot of things out of fear of rising cost of products, including a MacBook Air.
In the long run, the number will definitely change, especially when tariffs eventually kick in since the current exemption is only temporary.
