iOS 27.2 and iPadOS 27.2 beta 4 are out, and they come with a change that has split the internet right in the middle.
Apple Changes the Look of the Music App Icon in iOS 27.2 and iPadOS 27.2 Beta 4
You know the Apple Music app icon. It’s a red icon with a beamed eighth note that represents music. It’s iconic; if you change it, it will have people talking.
With the latest developer beta 4 of iOS 27.2 and iPadOS 27.2, people are definitely talking. Because the icon is now completely black and white. The background of the icon is white, and the music note is black.
The thing is, I’m not sure if this design change is necessary. But when I think about it, the icon now looks like a sheet of white paper with the beamed eighth note on it. Kinda classic, and clever, to be honest.
This new design sits well with the Apple Music Classical app rather than the main app itself. But here’s the thing: the Music app represents several things under one roof, not just one.
Inside the Music app lives your own library, which you can copy to your iPhone and iPad, apart from that, it’s a place to access Apple Music too, and you can access classical music there as well.
I’m just so confused at this change, really. I love it, and dislike it at the same time. But quite honestly, I like it more than the previous one because it’s finally something new.
One day this icon had to change, and if this is it, let’s get the word out now, right?
