First iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone Fold Dummy Models Show up Online, Revealing What we Can Expect Later this Year
Rumors and leaks have given us a general idea of what the upcoming iPhone lineup is going to look like. The iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max will resemble the current Pro lineup, while the iPhone Fold will take some design cues from the iPhone Air.
Sonny Dickson has shared a couple of images of the dummy models of iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone Fold, and they look very interesting.
Right off the bat, the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max look very similar to the current iPhones, at least from the back. However, when you look at the front, the camera and depth sensors look slightly smaller, something rumors have been talking about.
But, interestingly, the Dynamic Island remains in the top center of the display, not on the side.
The iPhone Fold, on the other hand, has me curious. Compared to the Pro phones, it looks remarkably small, especially the outer display. In fact, when the phone is fully opened, it doesn’t look that big either. It’s clear that Apple isn’t going for a device that turns into an ‘iPad’ when fully opened.
Previous rumors do say that the inner display will have an aspect ratio similar to iPad.
The aspect ratio of the outer display on the iPhone Fold is very strange. One glance at it and you get an idea of how apps will look like – just use the windowing system on your iPad to shrink an app to its smallest size and you won’t be too far off either.
This leak is very fascinating, and goes to show that Apple isn’t taking the usual route which everyone else is when making a foldable – a phone turning into a tablet.
