Apple has released a new firmware update – version 8B39 – for AirPods Pro 2, AirPods Pro 2, and AirPods 4.

New Firmware Update 8B39 Now Available for Download on AirPods Pro 3, AirPods Pro 2, and AirPods 4

A while ago, Apple released firmware update 8B30 for AirPods Pro 3, and 8B28 for AirPods Pro 2. Today, Apple is taking things up a notch with the release of 8B39 for the aforementioned devices.

However, the new firmware update is available for AirPods 4 as well.

Given Apple’s complete silence on the update, it’s safe to assume that this is a bug-fix release only, and one which should install on your earbuds automatically.

Thankfully, there is a way to force the update onto your AirPods and AirPods Pro. It basically involves connecting your AirPods to your iPhone or iPad, plugging in the charging case to power, and leaving it like that for a few minutes.

There is a complete tutorial on how to do just that, and it’s posted over here. But quite frankly, you don’t have to put yourself into this much trouble at all, and just let the update install automatically.
