tvOS 26.4 Now Available for Download on Apple TV with New Genius Browse Feature
If you’re already running tvOS 26.4 RC on your Apple TV, then you don’t have to do anything at all, and can continue using your set-top box normally. For everyone else, there’s a new update available, and you should download it immediately.
tvOS updates install automatically in the background, but if you want to enjoy the new fixes and security updates right away, then you can take the manual route. Just follow these steps and you’ll be on tvOS 26.4 in a matter of minutes:
- Turn on your Apple TV.
- Launch the Settings app.
- Now open System.
- Go to Software Updates > Update Software.

During the update process, your Apple TV will restart, your television will show the Apple logo, and may go completely blank several times.
