You can now download and install macOS 26.2 Tahoe RC with build number 25C56 on your Mac, if you’re a beta tester.
macOS 26.2 Tahoe RC Now Available to Download with New Features and Changes
Apple has finally released the RC (Release Candidate) build of macOS 26.2 to developers and public beta testers. If you’ve been testing beta 3 of the update on your Mac, then go right ahead and download it.
In order to do that, just open up System Settings, then go to General > Software Update. Click on Update Now the moment you see macOS 26.2 Tahoe RC.
Even if you sign up for the macOS 26 public beta, you will be able to download and install macOS 26.2 Tahoe RC. Simply sign up with your Apple Account on beta.apple.com, then launch System Settings, go to General > Software Update. Over here, click on Beta Updates, select macOS Tahoe 26 Public Beta, and then click on Done.
Now, head over to Software Update, and you’ll see the Release Candidate build available for download. Click on the Update Now button next to it, and the update will start to download immediately.
Given the RC update is available right now, it means everyone will be able to download the update next week around the world on a compatible Mac.
It’s entirely up to you whether or not you want to download the update now, or just wait until next week.
