OpenAI has launched its first-ever web browser powered by AI called ‘ChatGPT Atlas.’ It is available to download now on the Mac.
The OpenAI ChatGPT Atlas Web Browser is Now Available to Download on the Mac with All the Convenience of AI
At the time of writing, we have an acceptable amount of web browsers on all platforms, but with AI taking over, that number is definitely getting into the crowded territory.
With OpenAI dipping its toes in the browser space, the ChatGPT Atlas web browser is one that makes a lot of sense, and it’s on brand too.
The way ChatGPT Atlas works is genius, and exactly what an AI user would want on their Mac. When browsing the web, you get ChatGPT on the side, allowing you to talk to it as you browse the web. No need to open a separate tab or the dedicated ChatGPT app to access your AI.

You can ask it to summarize pages, seek help with the information being displayed on a page, or even ask it to do a comparison between products you’re browsing. It’s basically limited by the prompt you end up typing.
However, the thing that makes ChatGPT Atlas really good is agent mode. This means ChatGPT can interact with websites for you. If you want to make a reservation, buy tickets, book a photographer, or do pretty much anything at all, ChatGPT will take the wheel and do it for you on a website.
ChatGPT will remember what you’ve been browsing, allowing you to recall information whenever needed. You can definitely limit what ChatGPT learns, but the fact that such convenience exists is simply amazing.
Right now, the bowser is available to download on the Mac (download link). It will ultimately be available on iOS, Android, Windows, and so on.
This is a massive move from OpenAI, and one that puts Apple and Google in the spotlight regarding what their next plan is going to be, given both aren’t doing AI like this in Safari and Chrome, respectively.
