Apple has asked its suppliers to increased the production of the iPhone 17 from its suppliers after seeing unexpectedly huge demand.
iPhone 17 Production Increased to Keep up with Demand from Buyers
I said a while back that the standard iPhone 17 model is the best in the lineup. At the $799 price point, it offers way too much. From the powerful A19 chip to the 120Hz display, everything is there, and it’s hard to recommend the iPhone 17 Pro over it.
Turns out, buyers are seeing it that way too.
According to a report shared by The Information, Apple has asked two of its suppliers to ramp up daily production of the iPhone 17 model by 30%. That’s a big increase out of nowhere.
When the holiday quarter is over, it will be interesting to see if Apple has anything to say on this matter. I’m sure Tim Cook will definitely talk about a stronger base model iPhone for this year.
While the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max are amazing phones, when you compare them to the value the iPhone 17 is offering, it just doesn’t make much sense to invest in an expensive phone.
Sure, you get 4x optical zoom in the pro lineup, but a lot of people don’t care about these things. What matters the most are the megapixels, and the iPhone 17 delivers 48-megapixel sensors on both cameras – wide and ultra-wide.
Then there’s the display, which is consistent throughout the lineup. From the iPhone 17 all the way to the iPhone 17 Pro Max, you get a 120Hz refresh rate, always-on technology, and the ability to hit 3,000 nits of brightness whenever needed.
Now tell me again why you need that more expensive iPhone this year?
