Apple Releases New HomePod Software Update 26 Beta 4 with Bug Fixes and Other Improvements
The HomePod is set to receive a new software update later this year, taking it up to version 26. While there are no new known features, knowing that our favorite speaker is getting an update to keep it running smoothly is an icing on the cake.
Today, developer beta 4 of the HomePod Software Update 26 has become available for download, and you should step up your game and install it immediately. Here’s what you have to do:
- Launch the Home app.
- Tap on the ‘three dots’ button at the top.
- Open Home Settings.
- Scroll down to Software Update and open it.
- Install the available updates for your HomePod from here.
Those running developer beta 3 of the update should install the update immediately.
If you are willing to test out the update on your current HomePod or HomePod mini, you can do so by signing up for the Apple Developer Program. Or, you can make things easy for yourself by following the steps highlighted here.
One more thing: the update will be available for public beta testers as well. So be on the lookout for that this week.
