Mission Control is the one key I keep pressing every few seconds to get to apps and windows that would otherwise be lost on the screen.

Mission Control Makes Multitasking Easier, Especially if You’re Not Using the Built-in Window Management Features in macOS

Whether I’m covering an Apple keynote, writing a tutorial, making a wallpaper, or just editing a video, the Mission Control key (F3 on the keyboard), is my productivity companion, nothing else.

It instantly shows me my active apps and windows, and I don’t have to manually find them, making things so much easier.

This works for me because I don’t use the built-in window management features on the Mac at all. Because, I want to focus on the task at hand, and less on window aesthetics, except well-centered windows. Can’t comprise on those.

If you have the habit of finding apps and windows manually as well, and most of us do, just stop what you’re doing and press that Mission Control key right now, and you’ll see everything on the screen, spread out beautifully for you to click on.

Mission Control also reveals apps and windows which are unnecessarily open in the background. It’s best you close them to free up some memory for more important tasks.

Mission Control also allows you to create desktop spaces for dedicated workflows, but I don’t use that feature at all. In fact, that part of Mission Control only complicates things for me. I want my windows in one desktop space, not multiple ones.

So, what are you waiting for? Start using the Mission Control key (F3) from now on and see how much easier your life suddenly becomes.

Alternatively, you can swipe up with three fingers on the trackpad to get to Mission Control as well. But the hardware key is far more convenient.
